1661 Laurin v. Local Union 6000 Executive Board
Case No: 1661
2011
Laurin’s protest of the election in Region 1D South was prompted primarily by the inadequacy of the Election Committee’s report of the results of the election to the membership. In response to Laurin’s appeal, the IEB’s hearing officer conducted an independent reconciliation of the ballots and established the number of ballots returned and the number disqualified. The number of disqualified ballots was not unusually large and the decisions made with respect to them were consistent with the UAW’s Guide to Local Union Election Committees. There is no credible evidence in the record that the election results reported by the Election Committee were not accurate.
