1474 Powell v. Local Union 670
Case No: 1474
2004
An election conducted to fill a vacancy in an office is generally understood to be for the unexpired term of that office, so the steward’s position was properly up for election. The results of an election will not be disturbed in the absence of convincing evidence that some improper practice occurred to such a degree that the outcome of the election was affected. Powell has not demonstrated that any of the bylaws violations he alleges could have affected the outcome of the steward election or that the election was undemocratic.
